About

As a UX design consultant, I have worked on many types of products over the past couple of decades. As part of my practice, I have evolved the traditional UX practice into something more adaptable to the real business world. This blog is my way of sharing the perspective that has helped me evolve UCD and create very successful designs.

You’ll note that I am not shy about things and I don’t take things personally when people respond to my comments. I encourage feedback since that is the only effective method to broaden my perspectives. I don’t propose to articulate my thoughts as well as others, so sometimes my comments are not necessarily accurate reflections of my thoughts, but I do try.

I neither intend to offend anyone nor sugarcoat anything in an effort to be politically correct. I call them as I see them. I expect the same from you and look forward to your comments.

I am a graduate of Don Norman’s Cognitive Science program at UC San Diego and have been consulting, at his suggestion, since graduating in 1990. I have worked on over 200 different projects for companies large and small. A number of my designs have propelled my clients into market dominance. I credit my continually evolving UCD process with that success. Most of what I intend to discuss in this blog are those improvements.
